NEW INSPIRATION

One of the fun perks of my job is being invited to trade shows to view & experience the latest from suppliers. Urbis Design Day Pro was a fantastic day full of inspiration as suppliers showcased their furniture & showrooms. The perfect way to get the inside edge on new suppliers & the very latest offerings!

Read on for the finds I'm most excited about.

1. vidaspace

Images | Vidaspace

This clever company supplies very cool, super innovative interior finishes that really do transform spaces. Reclaimed barn timber, rusty metal, raw concrete, charred planks . . . a massive array of options adding genuine texture. Created into panels, the finishes are super light weight, flexible, fast and easy to install. Can't wait to use these in a project soon!

2. plumbline

Yes, I actually get excited about plumbing! Plumbline is my fave supplier of tapware and bathroom fittings. They have a constantly evolving range of products which always includes the latest in European design. And their new and improved showroom is a must to visit for anyone planning a renovation or new build. Spied on this visit - the super sleek new glass vanity top by Falper (tempered glass treated with nanotechnology paint to create a soft-touch that's fingerprint and stain resistant), the Buddy tapware collect which comes in 12 wow finishes (Brushed Copper and Aged Iron are my current faves) and the luxurious Coco collection in classic black and white.

3. harrows

I'm always on the lookout for suppliers who can customise furniture to create the perfect piece for a space. Loved the options that Harrows were showcasing - uphostered bar stools (teal velvet - yes please!), velvet and leather banquette seating, custom coloured dining chairs, stone and marble topped tables. All with contemporary clean lines and made here in New Zealand.

4. evoque

Another firm favourite supplier of mine are the trio that make up the Evoque Design Centre - Soren Liv, Furtex and Forte Flooring. Their showroom had a 70's glamour makeover for the event with a special backdrop created from Forte Floorings new Luxe metallic oak wall paneling. This timber would look amazing as a glamorous feature wall or the front on a bar or counter. The showroom was filled to the brim with gorgeous product - cushions, rugs, sofas, chairs, coffee tables . . . if you're searching for a special piece, I'd love to bring you here.
