Set on the edge of the manicured fairways and rolling hills of Wainui Golf Course, this new build naturally takes its cues from the dramatic outlook - views that shift with the light and the seasons, offering a breathtaking backdrop for a truly refined home.

THE BRIEF

With architectural plans completed by award-winning LTD Architecture and the Maddren Homes build team in place, the clients engaged KFD Interiors to elevate the vision into a contemporary, design-led home for relaxed everyday living.

Durability and function were essential, but the home also needed to express the clients’ personality and lifestyle. Every material, finish and furnishing would need to stand up to the realities of family life while delivering a home that was as stylish as it was practical, a home that would feel distinctly theirs.

INSPIRATION

With walls of glass framing the uninterrupted golf course panoramas, the ever changing skies, sunrises, shifting clouds and sunsets, became the central inspiration. A crisp white canvas forms the architectural foundation, accented with flax-pod tones to create balance and depth. Greyed blues and sunburnt clay tones provide striking accents set against sandy timber floors and tiles.

Every selection, from finishes to materials, was meticulously chosen to integrate into the overall design, with KFD Interiors signature style.

DESIGN DETAILS

The exterior makes a bold yet timeless statement with its fusion of white bagged brick and dramatic dark detailing. Inside, soaring ceilings are grounded with European oak floors to create an immediate sense of scale and grandeur.

Custom New Zealand-designed Snelling Studio lighting, finished in bespoke smokey blue tones, provide jewel-like accents through the interiors. Feature wallpapers add personality and a luxurious touch in unexpected spaces. Layered, textural fabrics selected for both their style and durability, complete the interiors, ensuring the home feels at once restful, contemporary and quietly luxurious.

INSIDE EDGE

Maintaining visual continuity throughout the home was essential to achieving a seamless connection between the interior and landscape. Every finish, paint colour, fabric and wallpaper was selected with care to ensure a layered, considered look.
